On Thursday 7 June, the architect Manuel Aires Mateus shared his personal vision of architecture with the students of the master’s degree. White and volume geometry are characteristic features in which the space occupied is as important as the void
His studio is one of the most influential on the international scene and his work has been awarded numerous prizes, such as the FAD Prize and the selection for the Mies van der Rohe Prize in 2009. He was recently awarded the PESSOA prize and he has been finalist of the FAD Architecture 2018 prize for his work ‘House in Estrela’ in Lisbon, Portugal.
The conference is part of the MArch programmes. The Portuguese transmitted his passion for architecture around a round table, where the students had the opportunity to talk with him. It was an exciting day for everyone, and we were able to enjoy the experience of one of the most important architects of our time.
