The project stems from the “Make a Mark” initiative, a collaborative innovation platform driven by three leaders in the packaging industry: Estal, Avery Dennison, and Leonhard Kurz. Within this framework, the Lavernia & Cienfuegos studio was invited to develop a proposal that would push the boundaries of design in luxury perfumery. The result is Edit 036, an experimental exercise that fuses premium materials and cutting-edge industrial processes to redefine exclusivity in the global market.

The name Edit 036 directly refers to the versatile nature of the design: the possibility of generating up to 36 different combinations by interchanging its components. This concept of an “edition” allows the packaging to be not a static piece, but a modular system where the cap, neck, and base can vary in colors and textures. This flexibility turns each bottle into an almost unique piece, adapting to different personalities and brand narratives under the same formal structure.

The visual proposal stands out for its sophisticated geometry that plays with light and transparency, using glass as a sculptural element. Lavernia & Cienfuegos designed a piece that acts as a tactile landmark, where every edge has been conceived to convey timeless modernity. The use of metallic finishes and labels with sensory textures, provided by the project’s technological partners, demonstrates how graphic design and physical support can elevate a product’s perceived value without resorting to decorative excess.

The excellence of Edit 036 has been widely recognized by international critics, garnering some of the most important awards in the sector. Among its accolades, the Pentawards Gold, the Red Dot Design Award, and the ADCV Gold stand out. These awards emphasize not only the project’s aesthetic beauty but also its capacity for functional innovation and the impeccable technical execution of a proposal that balances luxury with industrial efficiency.

In conclusion, Lavernia & Cienfuegos’ participation in “Make a Mark” reaffirms the role of design as a driving force for change in contemporary packaging. Edit 036 is not merely an exhibition object, but a living catalog of possibilities for the future of the industry. By combining strategic creativity with the versatility of its 36 possible combinations, the Valencian studio projects a vision where technique and personalization unite to create memorable brand experiences.
