The second workshop of module M04_Digital Innovation is led by filmmaker Jesús Orrico, who previously shared his expertise with MArch students during module M01_Communicate, specifically in the photoshooting segment.

This time, students have the opportunity to further develop their visual and technical skills under Orrico’s guidance, exploring new approaches and tools for audiovisual content creation, while also benefiting from his extensive experience in both photography and filmmaking. This workshop, aimed at expanding the students’ creative horizons, is part of the MArch program’s ongoing evolution — a program that merges technology, design, and creativity to train professionals with a global and innovative outlook.

The workshop will take place in a unique setting: the NIU Houses showroom in Campolivar — a space specifically designed to showcase various full-scale residential typologies, featuring designer furniture from leading brands and high-end vehicles provided by the Jaguar – Range Rover group. This environment offers students a professional and realistic scenario in which to develop their projects, working with elements of architecture, design, and technology that reflect the current market. It allows them to immerse themselves in a highly dynamic context and experience firsthand how spaces, objects, and visual elements interact in the creation of high-level visual content — a key skill for their future careers.

The main goal of the exercise is to expand the students’ knowledge of Adobe software, with a particular focus on Adobe Premiere Pro, which will serve as the main tool for video post-production. Students will have the opportunity to record their own audiovisual material in the MArch classroom, using the surrounding resources and guided by the insights of Jesús Orrico, who will share his specific techniques for video creation in the context of architecture and design.

Students will learn how to apply the principles of cinematography and editing to develop filmmaking projects that balance aesthetics and functionality. This workshop not only provides them with the technical tools to use professional software but also encourages teamwork, allowing them to explore different roles within the creative process and contribute to the development of professional-quality audiovisual projects. Ultimately, the exercise offers a unique opportunity to create innovative content aligned with current trends in design and architecture, while producing results that demonstrate their ability to deliver visual material that meets the highest industry standards.
