The students of the different MArch programs have traveled to the city of Barcelona to take one of the trips included in the study program. Each of the outings has the objective of getting to know leading works of contemporary architecture and learning from the experience through looking.
In the case of Barcelona, the trip focuses on three studios: OAB · Ferrater, Barozzi Veiga and Francesc Rifé. Aware of the enormous architectural offering that Barcelona offers, with the projects it houses designed by Gaudí, the reconstruction of the Mies Pavilion from 1929 and other jewels of modernist architecture and the modern movement, the aim of this visit is to get to know the work of three studios that are active today and developing some of the most interesting projects, not only in the city itself, but also around the world.
On the first day the group meets Lucía Ferrater and Núria Ayala, partners of OAB · Ferrater, as well as the studio of the prestigious interior designer Francesc Rifé. Likewise, students have the opportunity to visit one of the most emblematic projects of OAB · Ferrater: the Hotel Mandarín, on the famous Passeig de Gràcia. On the second day they visit the Barcelona Design Museum, DissenyHub, and in the afternoon they meet Alberto Veiga, founding member of the Barozzi Veiga studio.
