Students from the various MArch programs have begun, with this session, to explore how communities around architecture and design are built and managed through social media.
This module, led by Sara Atienza, introduces Community Management as a key tool for connecting ideas, people, and projects, addressing both digital communication and in-person interaction. Through practical strategies, students analyze how an active community can become a true driver of dissemination, learning, and professional collaboration.
The role of the community manager in these fields is broad and strategic. Their work involves giving visibility to projects through social media, blogs, and specialized media, while also listening and generating dialogue with the audience to gather feedback and strengthen the studio’s identity. Maintaining a strong brand image, managing criticism constructively, and sharing creative processes become essential elements in cultivating an engaged and participatory community.
Under the guidance of Sara Atienza, students analyze how effective management of these communities can lead to new professional opportunities and collaborations, while keeping followers informed about the latest trends in architecture and design. Throughout the module, they discover that community management goes far beyond promotion — it is a practice that strengthens relationships, fosters collaboration, and sustains the ongoing conversation around contemporary design.
Training in this field is led by Sara Atienza, who holds a degree in Business Administration and Management and a master’s in Marketing and Finance from ESIC, one of Spain’s leading business schools. She is a key member of the Fran Silvestre Arquitectos team, where she serves as Director of Communication for FSA, MArch, NIU Houses, and Threeseven. In addition to leading marketing strategy and media relations, she coordinates project photoshoots, working closely with brands and clients to ensure communication aligns with the visual identity of each work.
