Design Stores in Barcelona You Can’t Miss

If you love design and are visiting Barcelona, get ready—the city is a paradise of shops that are almost small works of architecture.

Some function like minimalist temples, others like laboratories for material experimentation, but they all share one thing: they invite you in not just to shop, but to experience a space. Here’s an essential selection for a design-focused route through the city.

We’ll start with Aesop, as Barcelona is lucky enough to have two stores that are true authorial pieces. The first, designed by Barozzi Veiga, is an exercise in spatial purity where calm becomes almost tangible. The second, by Mesura, interprets the Aesop universe with a warmer sensibility, playing with textures and geometries that envelop the visitor in an intimate way. Visiting both shows how a single brand can adopt completely different languages without losing its essence.

Near the heart of the Eixample you’ll find another gem: the Camper store designed by Kengo Kuma. Its interior combines natural materials with a serene atmosphere that contrasts with the city’s bustle. The space breathes Japanese tradition with a Mediterranean accent, proving that a brand can turn a simple shop into a sensory experience. Along these same lines of carefully considered design, the Nino Álvarez store, designed by Francesc Rifé, offers an elegant and restrained journey where every detail—from lighting to furniture—reinforces a sense of quiet luxury.

If you’re looking for something more experimental and contemporary, the Moco Concept Store, created by the studio Six n Five, is a must. Here, design blends with digital art, installations and futuristic furniture, turning the store into a small parallel universe within the city, inspired by the artists of the Moco Museum. Also worth a visit is the Gimaguas store, designed by TEST, which takes a more artisanal, Mediterranean approach, with an interior clad in petrified concrete fabric that creates soft forms and an atmosphere combining freshness with character.

To round off the route, you can’t miss the Roca Gallery, designed by OAB · Ferrater. More than a store, it is an exhibition space that celebrates water design through fluid, almost sculptural architecture. Both the lighting and the interior geometries create a landscape that invites unhurried exploration, turning the visit into an architectural experience in itself. It’s the perfect finale for understanding how Barcelona uniquely weaves together design, culture and space.
