The workshop led by Gimeno Gràfic took place in the MArch classroom over the past few days, offering students a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in the fundamentals of graphic design from a practical and creative perspective.

Directed by the renowned studio of Pepe Gimeno, the workshop focused on visual composition—one of the essential pillars of any communicative graphic design project. Through a simple yet stimulating exercise, students had to sharpen their visual intuition and expressive abilities to achieve effective graphic solutions.

The expertise of the Gimeno Gràfic team in visual identity creation played a key role in the workshop’s development. With a solid track record and multiple national and international awards, the studio brings a deep understanding of design as a strategic tool. Their knowledge in brand building indirectly guided the students’ work. While participants enjoyed full creative freedom, their results were coherent and well-balanced, thanks to the methodological framework established from the beginning.

The workshop emphasized a hands-on approach, encouraging a direct relationship between ideas and materials. Through the use of typography, photography, cut-outs, and collage techniques, students explored how to combine diverse elements within a single graphic surface. This practice highlighted not only the aesthetic value but also the functional aspects of design—how to establish hierarchy, guide the viewer’s gaze, and create a strong and clear visual narrative.
