The logo designed for Espai Guastavino has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious ADCV Awards, granted by the Designers’ Association of the Valencian Community (ADCV). This milestone celebrates the technical excellence of the proposal while reinforcing the value of having top-tier professionals, such as Ibán Ramón, as part of the lecturing team that trains students in the MArch programs.
The finalist project stands out for its ability to synthesize the architectural essence of Rafael Guastavino, the renowned Valencian architect famous for his “tile arch” (bóveda tabicada) technique. The logo successfully captures the geometry and characteristic lightness of his structures, transforming complex spatial concepts into a solid and contemporary visual identity. This type of work exemplifies the intersection between architecture and graphic design—a synergy constantly fostered within the MArch architecture and design programs.
Ibán Ramón’s nomination in the ADCV Awards serves as a practical lesson on the importance of visual narrative in positioning a cultural project. The Espai Guastavino identity functions as a brand, but also as a graphic tribute that respects historical legacy while projecting itself toward the future.
The ADCV Awards are the benchmark for design in the Valencian Community, rewarding innovation and the positive impact of the discipline on society. Being a finalist in these awards is a seal of quality that distinguishes projects with impeccable execution and a powerful concept. The fact that the Espai Guastavino logo has reached this final stage underscores Ibán Ramón’s relevance as a key figure in modern design, capable of elevating the communication of cultural institutions to an international standard.
