Introduction to Photography Classes Begin at March

This week marks the start of the Introduction to Photography classes within the MArch postgraduate programs, as part of the M01_Communicate module.

The sessions are taught by photographer and filmmaker Jesús Orrico, a professional with a strong background in architecture and design, who brings an expert perspective on how to capture spaces, objects, and the details that define each project.

Throughout the classes, students explore the technical fundamentals of photography — camera use, light control, and composition — always approached from a perspective that balances formal precision with aesthetic sensitivity. The course focuses on how to build a powerful visual narrative through observation, framing, and the management of the elements that compose an image.

Learning is structured progressively and practically, allowing participants to apply their knowledge through exercises centered on architecture, product design, and other sculptural elements. Taking advantage of the Espai Alfaro as a didactic and visual environment, the classes encourage attentive observation and experimentation with different visual languages.

Beyond the technical aspects, Orrico invites reflection on photography as a medium of professional expression in creative disciplines. Drawing from his experience collaborating with leading architecture studios, he provides students with tools to define their own style and to approach visual projects with clarity, intention, and purpose.
