This is the new volume in the monographic series showcasing a selection of built projects by former students of the MArch postgraduate school.

Published by TC Cuadernos / General de Ediciones de Arquitectura, this edition continues the legacy of the first Loading volume, thereby consolidating a series that aims to highlight the talent and international reach of professionals trained within the program.

The connection between both volumes is not only conceptual but also visual. While the first edition featured on its cover the iconic entrance door to the Alfaro Hofmann Studio —designed by sculptor Andreu Alfaro and located at the Espai Alfaro, where MArch classes are held— this second volume presents a detail of the doors of the Spanish Pavilion at the 1994 Venice Biennale, also designed by Alfaro. A symbolic link that reinforces the idea of continuity and expansion from a shared point of origin toward global projection.

Inside, Loading 2 brings together built projects by architects of various nationalities who share the same educational experience. The publication features works by Mexican architects Roger Bores, Berenice Hinojosa, Raúl Rojas (with photographs by Héctor Pineda), and Félix Villaseñor; Argentine architects Fernando Brunel, Victoria Iturriaga, Maria Vigliocco, and Hernán Garzón, along with Bolivian-Argentinian Luz Roda; Chilean architects Pablo Larroulet, Lucas Maino, and Benjamín Lítvak; as well as Spanish architects Marta Andrés, Héctor Borràs, Javier Selfa, Amaia Arana, and Carlos Gosende; Colombians Carolina Rojas and David Soto; Ecuadorians Juanes Andrade and María José Puga; Uruguayan Martín Olivera; Italian Giuseppe Maria Genco; and Albanian Jora Vokopola.

Loading 2: Emerging Architectures is born out of a desire to celebrate the real impact MArch’s training has on professional practice. Far from being a simple record, the publication serves as a platform for dissemination and recognition, highlighting the diversity, commitment, and architectural quality of those who, after their time at the school, are actively contributing to the redefinition of today’s architectural landscape.
