Memorial for the Victims of Pedrógrão Grande | Souto de Moura

The studio of the Portuguese Pritzker prize winner Eduardo Souto de Moura has designed a space for the Memorial of the Victims of the Pedrógão Grande Fires.
In it is located a pool of water linked to a structure that develops horizontally in the form of a fountain, and it seeks to be a reflection of life and birth. For Souto de Moura, water as purification is a transversal element in all cultures and religions. In addition, it has the double function of being able to be used for water supply in case of fire.
