New Barozzi Veiga project | Nieuwpoort Town Hall

Barcelona-based Italian-Spanish studio Barozzi Veiga, who recently gave a talk to share their work with MArch students, has won the competition for the design of the Nieuwpoort town hall.
The proposal is a contemporary interpretation of the typical traditional architecture of the place, and for its best adaptation, solutions such as masonry combined with new zinc roofs are used. This roof structure has a series of skylights that allow sunlight to enter interior spaces. It is, once again, an excellent example of integration and dialogue between traditional and contemporary architecture.
