New Gràffica Space Opens in the Heart of Valencia

On April 23rd, coinciding with World Book Day, Gràffica inaugurated its new physical space in Valencia, located at Calle Almudín 16, right in the historic city center and very close to the studio of renowned graphic designer Daniel Nebot.

The date was no coincidence—it symbolizes the team’s commitment to thought, reading, and visual culture. In this new venue, Gràffica opens to the public a showroom—or “shoproom,” as they call it—where design lovers can discover a curated selection of books focused on design, along with all the publications developed by their editorial label. Among them are emblematic titles such as Cómo vivir del diseño by Ana Gea and Sistemas visuales flexibles, among many others. The opening was a great success, with notable figures such as Pepe Gimeno and Daniel Nebot in attendance, and featured a screening of the documentary El futuro del ayer: Quince años de diseño y cultura visual, a wonderful piece that invites reflection on the current state and future of the design profession.

The space has been conceived not only as a place for browsing and buying, but as a living, dynamic, and participatory environment. With an open and flexible architectural layout, it includes a small auditorium that will serve as the hub for cultural activities: from talks and book presentations to screenings and round tables. The goal is to create a meeting point where design is not only something to be observed but also a subject for dialogue, reflection, and community. Gràffica, which has long been a reference in Spanish-language design communication, takes another step forward with this opening in its mission to connect professionals, students, and design enthusiasts around a shared passion.

One of the most innovative features of this new space will be its morning event programming. Inspired by their experiences in cities like London and Berlin, Ana Gea and Víctor Palau—founders of the project—have decided to break the tradition of scheduling cultural events only in the evenings, instead introducing a new time slot: weekday mornings. This decision is a direct response to a reality seen internationally, where attending a talk or presentation in the late morning is a common part of many creative professionals’ routines. With this, they propose a reconfiguration of the city’s cultural rhythm, inviting people to engage with design as part of their everyday professional life.

With this launch, Gràffica reaffirms its commitment to design culture in all its facets: editorial, educational, communicative, and social. The shoproom not only expands access to specialized content but also redefines how design professionals interact with public space. Valencia, a city increasingly linked to design through initiatives like this one, gains a new reference point for those who see design not just as a discipline, but as a way of seeing and transforming the world.
