This week, the Photo Retouching session took place, organised by Víctor González, a member of FSA LAB at Fran Silvestre Arquitectos.
These classes allowed students to delve into the refinement of images captured during photo shoots, with a particular focus on the use of Adobe Photoshop and advanced editing techniques. Throughout the session, participants were able to observe how professional post-production is carried out and how each intervention influences the final outcome of the photographs.
During the session, students explored in depth the wide range of tools that Photoshop offers for image processing. They applied everything from basic adjustments to more complex techniques, focusing on colour correction, lighting and composition. In addition, they worked directly on photographs taken during previous shoots, learning how to optimise each image and enhance the visual impact of their projects.
The activity also provided students with a comprehensive overview of the professional workflow at FSA LAB, demonstrating how photography and retouching are integrated into the studio’s design and visual communication processes. It was highlighted that careful editing not only improves the aesthetic quality of an image, but also strengthens architectural storytelling and facilitates the clear communication of each project’s ideas and concepts.
Overall, the session helped strengthen students’ skills in photographic retouching and broaden their understanding of the relationship between architecture, design and visual communication. Participants came to understand that post-production is an essential tool for presenting projects professionally, ensuring that each image faithfully reflects the intent and quality of the work developed in the studio.
