Pilar Marcos, the director of this specialized publication on interior design, architecture, and design, visited MArch Valencia to share with the students how her magazine operates and how they manage the content they publish.

During the session, she spoke about the importance of project presentation, visual and written storytelling, and how to capture the attention of editors in a competitive environment. She also emphasized how originality and quality in the submitted works determine whether they are selected for publication.

Furthermore, she shared the inner workings of her magazine and the key aspects considered from an editorial standpoint when selecting projects. She also explained what documentation is expected in a press kit for a proper assessment and potential inclusion—information that proved to be of great interest to the students.

With an extensive career in the publishing world, Pilar has accumulated a wealth of experience that includes managing and directing a highly recognized magazine on the national scene, alongside a deep command and intuition regarding upcoming industry trends. Her teaching background added invaluable worth to her visit, as she combined theoretical knowledge with real practical cases.

Pilar Marcos is the director of Diseño Interior magazine, one of the print media outlets focused on architecture and design with the widest circulation in Spain. She graduated with a degree in Information Sciences and Journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has worked in the publishing industry since the beginning of her career. Additionally, she has given lectures and presentations at various institutions and has taught at the IED Madrid.
