Public Speaking classes have begun at MArch, taught by César Gómez-Mora, a course designed to help students develop their ability to communicate effectively in front of an audience.

Throughout the sessions, students will work on expressing their ideas clearly and confidently, learning to use gestures and eye contact as tools to build connection and empathy with the audience. The goal is for them to understand that the way a message is communicated can be just as important as its content.

The course takes a practical approach, focusing on mastering body language and expressiveness as essential elements of an effective presentation. Through exercises and interactive dynamics, students experience how tone, posture, and gaze influence the audience’s attention and understanding. This learning process aims to strengthen each student’s self-confidence and stage presence — key aspects for performing naturally in professional settings.

At the same time, the classes explore the creation of visual presentations, examining how slide design tools can contribute to clearer and more engaging communication. Students learn to structure their presentations logically, select appropriate graphic resources, and use visual aids as a complement — not a substitute — to their speech. In this way, content and image are integrated to enhance the effectiveness of the message.

César Gómez-Mora, who leads this course, combines a strong background in technology and marketing with a specialization in public communication. Trained as a computer scientist, he has worked in the software industry in cities such as Amsterdam and Valencia. His interest in public speaking led him to organize the Ignite format — short, high-impact talks — and to coordinate TEDx Valencia. With his experience, he encourages MArch students to rethink the way they approach the challenge of speaking in public.
