The creative studio PalauGea recently visited MArch to share with students some of their most notable projects, especially their editorial work with the renowned specialized platform Gràffica.

Students had the opportunity to discover firsthand how ideas are developed at PalauGea and how they are transformed into strong, recognizable visual proposals.

Among the projects presented was the coordination and design of the book and the most recent COTEC gala, a complex project that achieved excellent results. They also shared the redesign of the 2018 COTEC Annual Report, where each of the 1,500 printed copies featured a different cover, reinforcing the value of uniqueness in an institutional publication. Another project showcased was the documentary El futuro del ayer, which they’ve been working on in recent years, featuring voices from prominent figures in the world of design and culture, available through La Caixa’s digital platform.

In the editorial field, they explained the origin of Gràffica, currently the most visited digital platform on graphic design in the Spanish-speaking world. Beyond its online development, Ana Gea discussed its transition to print through the launch of a magazine, as well as the creation of parallel editorial projects: ¡Mússica! and Öbjetto. She also presented other editorial works developed by the studio, such as Universo de Emociones, created with Eduard Punset, and Vivir del diseño, written by Ana Gea herself.

Universo de Emociones is a project that fuses art, science, psychology, and design to help understand and manage over three hundred human emotions. Designed as a tool for emotional education, it includes an iconic poster and a book that facilitate awareness and reflection on the emotional world. On the other hand, Vivir del diseño is a comprehensive guide for creative professionals seeking to manage their careers with knowledge and strategy. Its pages cover key topics such as client management, negotiation, team leadership, communication, decision-making, and the emotional aspects of creative work, offering an honest and practical view of professional life in the design sector.

After the lecture, the students accompanied Ana Gea to the showroom recently opened in the center of Valencia, where they explored the studio’s editorial work and shared insights and questions about the sector with both Ana Gea and Víctor Palau.
