València Design Fest Kicks Off

Organized by the Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana, the festival turns the city into a vast creative stage: exhibitions, urban tours, workshops, conferences, and pop-up spaces will appear across different corners, accessible both to professionals and to design enthusiasts in general.

One of the main highlights of this edition is Feria Hábitat València, together with Textilhogar, taking place from September 29 to October 2. More than 700 brands in furniture, lighting, textiles, and homeware will fill the exhibition halls, making it a meeting point for much of the Valencian and international design community, both creative and productive.

The program also includes strong thematic axes such as contemporary crafts, urban design, and sustainability. Standout examples include the exhibition Tiempo y Materia (“Time and Matter”), curated by Estudio Savage to explore the relationship between materials and artisanal processes; architectural talks and debates, such as neuroarchitecture sessions or dialogues on “intimate architecture”; and sustainable fashion events under the umbrella of “Future of Fashion”.

For the city, València Design Fest is not just a catalogue of cultural activities but a reaffirmation of its creative identity and international outlook. As its directors note, the festival consolidates design as part of València’s cultural and social identity, ensuring that design does not remain isolated but instead engages in dialogue with companies, citizens, and institutions—generating economic, symbolic, and social value.
