Visit of Atelier ARS to MArch

The Mexican studio Atelier ARS has delivered a lecture at Espai Alfaro for the students of the MArch programs, where they also presented the monograph recently published by TC Cuadernos on their work.
During the presentation, Alejandro Guerrero shared their working methodology and discussed some of their projects, such as the pavilions in the Huentitán Natural Park in Guadalajara, Mexico; the residential building for Welt in Colonia del Valle, Mexico City; the Center for Culture and the Arts of La Ribera in Ajijic, Jalisco; and the master plan and landscape design for a tequila company in Tepatitlán, also in Jalisco.
Likewise, he focused on the publication that TC Cuadernos dedicated to his studio’s work, which brings together a selection of projects developed across various locations in Mexico and at different scales: cultural facilities, funerary spaces, industrial architecture, collective housing, pavilions in natural environments, and projects for a tequila-producing firm.
For their architecture, they employ a language characterized by the use of tectonic and austere materials such as stone, brick, or concrete, seeking to interweave artisanal processes with industrial rigor. Each of the projects stands out for being endowed with a great sensitivity directly associated with material expression.
Atelier ARS is a Mexican studio founded by Andrea Soto and Alejandro Guerrero in 2010 with headquarters in Zapopan. In just over fifteen years of existence, it has established itself as one of the most prominent architecture teams on the contemporary Mexican scene.
