On January 22, the students visited the Miralles Foundation, an essential space for understanding the legacy and ongoing relevance of Enric Miralles’ work.

During the visit, they were able to engage not only with his architecture, but also with the way his thinking remains alive through the foundation and the studio.

Accompanied by Cristopher Tapia, the students learned first-hand about the foundation’s work, as well as the projects currently on display. Particular emphasis was placed on how Miralles’ archive is managed and shared, combining dissemination, research, and conservation.

For the first time, they were able to visit the model storage space, where students discovered how the models are made, preserved and prepared for transport to different exhibitions. This access allowed them to understand the importance of models not only as communication tools, but also as fundamental instruments within the creative process.

To conclude, the students enjoyed a private visit to the EMBT Miralles Tagliabue studio, where they learned about the studio’s working methodology, team dynamics, and spatial configuration. This experience offered them a direct and enriching insight into the professional reality of an internationally renowned architecture practice.
