Ibán Ramón receives the Art Directors Club award

The designer and lecturer of the MArch programs, Ibán Ramón, has been honored with one of the most outstanding awards in European design: a gold prize at the Art Directors Club of Europe (ADC*E) for his “llibret”.
This “llibret” accompanied the 2025 Fallas monument created under the slogan The World is on Fire, designed by the studio Lo Siento for the Mossén Sorell–Corona falla.
The design of the “llibret” stands out for its radically editorial aesthetic: sheets of different sizes bound with a fastener, monospaced typefaces such as Courier, and an absence of color — all intended to evoke a documentary archive. This visual simplicity, combined with a direct and critical tone, reinforces the message of the monument: a warning about global tensions such as wars or the climate crisis.
This recognition is not an isolated case. In addition to the European gold, Ibán Ramón also received a bronze award in the editorial design category at the same ADC*E 2025 for his work on the publication Escenas del diseño valenciano 001-014, published by the Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana. This double achievement confirms his versatility and his ability to successfully navigate highly diverse projects — from the world of Fallas to the most rigorous editorial design.
The award represents a recognition of Valencian creativity and talent on the European stage. It is also a boost for the visibility of contemporary graphic and editorial design, elevating Ibán Ramón —and by extension the programs he collaborates with, such as MArch— to a benchmark within the design field. This milestone demonstrates that what is local can resonate powerfully on a universal scale, and highlights the strength of a committed, bold, and critical approach.
