The architect and director of the MArch programs, Fran Silvestre, has been recognized as Doctor Magno by the Association of Doctors, in a ceremony held at the Beneficencia Chapel in Valencia. Recognitions in this category are used to commemorate the work of notable figures in various fields of science, especially those related to philosophy and religion.

The Granada architect Carmen Moreno, who will be at MArch on April 15, is the author of a significant project located in Víznar, north of Granada. The Cortijo de las Colonias estate, located on the road to the Fuente Grande de Víznar spring, is part of the stepped landscape of the ravine through which the Aynadamar irrigation canal runs.

Within the MArch Advanced in Architecture, Design and Business Administration master's program, classes have begun on one of the most important points within this MBA in architecture: the Financial Plan sessions. These sessions are taught by Ana de Pablo and will address everything related to the administrative and economic management of an architecture or design studio, as well as a human resources plan and its organization.

The Pritzker Prize is a recognition in the field of architecture known as the "Nobel of architecture", being one of the highest recognitions awarded in the professional field. Since its creation in 1979 by Jay A. Pritzker and his wife Cindy, this prestigious award has honored architects who have left a significant mark and contributed exceptionally to society.

The first workshop of the M04_Digital Innovation module comes from the photographer Jesús Orrico, who already shared his knowledge with MArch students in the M01_Comunicar module, within the photoshooting part.

The architect Alba de la Fuente, an expert in visualization, has visited the MArch school for another year to share her professional experience with our students. Specialized in artistic conceptualization and research, Alba has explored new perspectives in architectural representation and the creation of innovative projects. Her technical skills include mastery of advanced software tools such as 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects, which have allowed her to develop community-acclaimed architectural visualizations.

Among the poplar trees bordering the Fluvià River in Tussols-Basil is a discreet bathing pavilion, designed by RCR Arquitectes, which offers services to bathers enjoying the natural environment. The structure of the pavilion, of simple appearance, is made up of a single longitudinal volume, slightly curved to follow the sinuous contour of the river bed. In front, a raised platform reproduces the geometry of the pavilion, extending its presence in a harmonious way.

In early March, Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto has been announced as the winner of the 2024 Pritzker Prize. Yamamoto is recognized as a "social advocate" who creates connections between the public and private sectors, inspiring harmonious societies despite differences in identities, economies, policies, infrastructure and housing systems.

Since 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, in collaboration with the Arquia Foundation, a partner of the MArch graduate school, promotes the TAC! Urban Architecture Festival, with the purpose of bringing architecture closer to society and highlighting the value of urban public space through innovation and experimentation through the construction of a temporary pavilion in different cities in Spain.

The first Lebond watch, designed by Álvaro Siza, showed that famous architects can create magic even in an object as everyday as a watch. Now, this trip has a new chapter with a watch designed by the other Portuguese Pritzker laureate: Eduardo Souto de Moura.

On March 12 and 14, the start of the course for MArch postgraduate students in digital design and innovation and the MArch International event took place. In the first case, we welcomed the new students who joined on this date, from different countries, and who will finish their studies at the end of September.

The Portuguese architect António Choupina, who maintains a strong connection with Álvaro Siza, coordinating numerous exhibitions around him and organizing the events related to the 90th anniversary of the first Portuguese Pritzker Prize, has recently visited MArch to share his professional experience alongside the master and review his career.

From March 9 to 11, MArch program students had the opportunity to visit Porto and see some works by Pritzker Prize winners Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, as well as projects by MArch Zé architects and speakers. Carlos Oliveira, from Noarq Studio, and Correia/Ragazzi. Furthermore, the latter, together with António Choupina, contributed with various interventions throughout the stay to enrich the experience.

As a final exercise to the M03_Construir module, the Singular Structures team, led by David Gallardo, has organized a workshop with the MArch students in which they have had to face the challenge of solving an exercise related to their field of study.

On February 27, Madrid, and within the framework of the Madrid Design Festival, witnessed an event in the world of design with the presentation of the redesign of the magazine Diseño Interior, directed by Pilar Marcos, MArch speaker.

The famous architect Juan Domingo Santos, winner of a FAD Award for Thought and Criticism, and professor of projects at the Technical School of Architecture of Granada, has been at MArch recently sharing experiences from his professional career.

The students of the program MArch Advanced in architecture, design and business administration have traveled this week to La Vila, in Olot, to carry out a workshop led by the prestigious studio and Pritzker award winners RCR Arquitectes.

Andreu Alfaro was one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century in Spain, with a public work that transcended its borders and has reached Venice, New York, Frankfurt and other European cities. Additionally, many of his sculptures can be found in permanent museum collections.

On February 24, Serralves opened to the public the inaugural exhibitions of the new Álvaro Siza Wing, "Anagramas Improváveis. Works from the Serralves Collection" and "C.A.S.A: Álvaro Siza Collection", with free admission throughout the Foundation and special programming throughout the day.

These days the students of the MArch programs, in the context of the 03_Build module, have learned first-hand and have been able to work with a material that is increasingly common: the solid surface. During the workshop, taught by Paco Pardo, they learned about its properties and advantages, the different forms of application it offers and what its characteristics and adaptability are, which they were also able to verify by manipulating small pieces.

The Portuguese studio NOArq has recently been in Valencia to give a presentation at MArch. Led by its founder, José Carlos Oliveira, they shared with the students of the MArch programs some of their most notable projects carried out in recent years. His career as a studio spans two decades and he has worked for both private clients and the public sector.

Vigo is about to experience an architectural revolution with the construction of Halo, a futuristic elevator that promises not only to improve pedestrian connectivity between García Barbón and Vía Norte but also to become an emblem of innovation and design. This project, the result of collaboration between NOARQ, Arenas&Asociados and AM2 Arquitectos, has been unanimously selected for its ability to merge functionality with aesthetics, falling within the ambitious "Vigo Vertical".

The Correia Ragazzi studio shared with MArch students one of its most intimate and personal projects: La Quinta de Velude, near Porto and facing the Duero River, in a privileged location. It all begins with the Casa da Capela, part of the Quinta de Velude, which has its roots in the 14th century and is linked to the historical presence of the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques.

Last Friday, the renowned Italian-Portuguese architecture studio Correia Ragazzi visited MArch to give a presentation through which they shared some of the most notable projects of their career, as well as their personal references and concerns.

Within the M03_Build module, a series of sessions dedicated to learning a digital tool that has become essential today and that facilitates the work process for professionals in the sector are developed: BIM (Building Information Modeling).

"Lo spazio dell'ideazione. The students of the different MArch programs have traveled to the city of Barcelona to take one of the trips included in the study program. Each of the outings has the objective of getting to know leading works of contemporary architecture and learning from the experience through looking.

The new Valencia Architecture Guide has recently been presented at the Territorial College of Architects of Valencia. It is a publication that seeks to complement the latest edition of 2010. It is structured chronologically in six periods in which 631 buildings (279 more than in the 2010 edition) and spaces are distributed, from the 1st century BC. C. until 2020.
